Back to School DIY: Binders

One of the most frustrating things I can remember about going back to school would be the hunt to find cute and original school supplies. Nothing put more of a damper on my first day back was seeing someone with the identical supplies that I had. The problem is everything cute and different seems to cost way to much. I have found simple plastic three ringed binders costing upwards of ten dollars. This being my last year of high school I decided it was time to get a little crafty and decorate my own binders.

The first DIY is pretty common, but every binder will come out different. I just made a collage using a mixture of magazine cutouts, pictures off of tumblr and some newspaper. I also added sequins, a few googly eyes and stickers just to mix it up.

This DIY was supper simple and cost me about a dollar. The binder is from Wal-mart and I just used some magazines I found around my house.

The second DIY is a little more out of the box. The idea for this one struck me while watching my dad chop wood for a fire. I took a few of the birch logs my dad had cut and removed the bark. Then I used double sided carpet tape ( it holds really well) to attach the pieces to a piece of card paper. Note** please don't tear the bark off of living birch trees. I would not have done this if the logs weren't already cut. ** This binder is for sure to be one of a kind.

Both of these binders are very cost efficient, original and in my opinion very cute. I bought bother binders at Wal-mart for a dollar and used materials I found around my house ( and campsite) to decorate.
